Getting Started

How do I create an account? Visit song7.io, click "Sign Up," and use your email or Google account.

Is Song7 free? There's a free tier for small teams. Premium plans unlock more features. Check pricing for details.

What's a "space"? Your team's workspace in Song7. It holds your songs, sets, posts, and members.

Songs

How do I add songs? Click "Create New" in the Songs section, or import from ChordPro (.cho), text (.txt), or JSON files.

What format for chords and lyrics? Put chords above lyrics where they're played. Use [Verse 1] for sections and # for comments.

Can I transpose songs? Yes! Click the gear icon on any song and pick your key. Each person can view in their own preferred key.

Can I import my existing library? Yep. Drag and drop .cho, .txt, or .json files into the Songs page.

Sets

How do I create a set list? Go to Sets, click "Create New," add a title and date, then add songs from your library.

Can I reorder songs? Yes, drag and drop them in the order you want.

How do I notify my team? When creating or editing a set, you can assign members and send notifications.

Team

How do I invite people? Space admins go to Admin → Invite Members, enter email addresses, and send invites. The recipient must sign in with the exact email the invite was sent to — invites can't be redirected to a different address.

The invite link didn't work — it said the email doesn't match. Invites are tied to a specific email. If you'd rather use a different login (e.g. a personal Gmail instead of the email that got the invite), ask a space admin to send a new invite to that address.

What are teams? Groups within your space (like "Vocalists" or "Band"). Makes assigning roles easier.

Can I be in multiple spaces? Yes! Join as many as you need for different groups.

Live Performance

What is Live View? Display your setlist during worship services. Open any set and click Start to enter it.

How do presentations work? Click a song from your set and it displays on your projector. Customize background, text size, and position.

Can I use Song7 offline? It's online, but songs cache in your browser for quick access.

Tools

Does the metronome sync between devices? Yes! All team members viewing the same song stay in perfect sync.

Can I see chord diagrams? Turn them on in song settings. Great for learning or quick reference.

How does autoscroll work? It scrolls through lyrics at your chosen speed. Perfect for hands-free practice.

Account

How do I change my password? Go to Account & Settings → Email and Password.

Can I customize colors? Yes! Pick your theme colors in Account & Settings → Color Theme.

How do I cancel my subscription? Account & Settings → Subscription opens the customer portal where you can manage everything.

How do I delete my account? Account & Settings → Delete Account. Cancel your subscription first and transfer any spaces you own.

Technical

What browsers work? Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari - keep them updated for best results.

Can I export my songs? Yes. Export as ChordPro, text, or JSON format.

Is my data secure? Yes. Firebase backend, HTTPS encryption, secure authentication.

Troubleshooting

Songs not displaying right? Refresh the page or check your chord formatting.

Changes not showing? Refresh or check your internet connection.

Tuner not working? Grant microphone permission in your browser.
