Import Your Existing Songs
Already have a song library? Bring it in:
- Look for the import area
- Drag and drop your files
- Song7 accepts:
- ChordPro files (.cho)
- Text files (.txt)
- JSON files (.json)
Song7 processes them and adds them to your library.
Tip: Test with one file first to make sure the format works, then batch import the rest.
Export for Backup

- Find the export option
- Choose your format:
- ChordPro - Works with other music software
- Text - Simple, universal format
- JSON - Best for re-importing to Song7

Sheet Music & Notation
Each song can also carry attachments (PDF or image charts) and MusicXML notation (engraved staff notation rendered in the app, with transpose). Add them while editing a song — see Attachments & notation.
Keep It Organized
Use tags wisely - Tag songs by season, theme, tempo, difficulty, or whatever helps you find them later.
Regular cleanup - Fix typos when you spot them, update chords if they're wrong, remove songs you never use.
Backup regularly - Export your library every so often. Better safe than sorry.
